Description 

This internship focuses on the development, implementation, and evaluation of children’s health and wellness programs for ages 5–18. Interns will gain hands-on experience in nutrition education, community health initiatives, and program sustainability while working in schools, churches, and community organizations.

Tasks 

  • Develop health and nutrition education programs for schools, churches, clinics, and community organizations
  • Create educational materials such as infographics, presentations, brochures, and newsletters
  • Assist in organizing and implementing health fairs, school presentations, and community wellness events
  • Support social media updates and outreach related to health programs
  • Collaborate with local organizations and churches in children’s health-related ministry initiatives

Supervision and Mentoring

Interns will be supervised by Dr. Anika Avery Grant, RDN, DCN, CSR, along with professional healthcare staff. Supervision includes guidance in program design, implementation, evaluation, and professional development in community health and nutrition.

Housing and Meals

  • Housing: Residential home, shared rooms
  • Meals: 3 per day
